About Me
Alli Hausman is a senior journalism student attending Eastern Illinois University and majoring in journalism. In 2025, she became the department’s ambassador, the vice president of her chapter of the Society for Collegiate Journalists and was honored as a Kappa Tau Alpha journalism honor society top scholar.
She spent two years as the sole copy editor and managing editor of the Daily Eastern News—a digital daily, print weekly student newspaper running since 1915— before becoming editor in chief.
Alli has a passion for copy editing with an sharp focus on accuracy. She is skilled in proofreading, story structure, AP style, headline writing, grammar and fact checking. She also carries experience reporting, writing editorials, writing newsletters, curating social media, advising print design and creating multimedia work.
Outside of news, Alli has worked at the Tarble Museum of Art for nearly 4 years, maintaining its website and copy editing as needed. She also created the current style guide for the museum.
